Greetings John :) Please blurt out any ideas that you may have. My main problem is time. I don't have any. :( The other problem I ran into was in figuring an adjustment for market volatility. Since there is no way to predict what the market will do that's a tough one. So my first thought was using ...

Greetings Norbert :) I didn't realize there was an impression you were being ignored. I sure didn't mean to ignore your post but I'm having a little difficulty getting all these numbers to add up. :? I was messing around with this today and my main problem seems to be tying this all in with the ups...

Taxing problem for benefits

Greetings FIRE folk :) Scott says: If you want to replace your purchasing power in retirement, you'll have to pay more taxes to Uncle Sam today. You'll have to pay still more tomorrow. This will happen because Uncle Sam has had the power to tax Social Security benefits since 1983. That, dear reader...

Can you elaborate? If it's just PM's in the database, scrub the table.
There is more to it than just the PM's. That's all I can say about it. I appreciate your suggestion though.

Maybe ES can just hand these boards/homepage over to you now thereby leaving them open?
Can't do that. Privacy issues.

*Important announcement at Town Center*

Greetings all :)

I've just made a major announcement on the Town Center board. I don't want anyone to miss it so I'll post this on all the boards. See this link:

ES, are hard questions going to be allowed to run their course if they stay polite?
I can't speak for this board. I do not run it. It's up to the moderator here. On all the other boards here at NFB the answer to your question is absolutely!

Greetings Mike :) There does not seem to be any way to win today by using S&P index funds, with S&P yields so low. Expanding on unclemicks thoughts, we aren't trying to win the battle today. We are trying to win the war tomorrow. I've been a big fan of VFINX for many years. I still am and y...

Greetings Delawaredave :)

You can just sign up for a 30 day free trial membership. You can then read the forums but you can't post. I wouldn't use my primary email address though. Use a hotmail or google one. Unless you want to be pestered for the rest of you life that is.

Greetings Arrete :) One caveat I have is that you shouldn't include the entire value of a home in the part of the assets that can be drawn for living expenses. After all, one must live somewhere. I'm to late to second this so I'll third it!

I'm glad I won't have this problem. I have many interests outside of work. This web site of course, programming, flying, golf, I even compose my own music just to name a few. Nope, I just can't wait for retirement. 8)

Greetings John :) For example, if someone wishes to start a board with a different point of view, I am sure that ES would allow him to start his own moderated board here, at the NFB. The individual would have to follow the rules of the website. I think that ES would allow restricted discussions pro...

Greetings arrete :) is that avatar too big? I don't know what the protocol is. The Queen Bee seems to have a rather large one Well the smaller the better. You could make it just a little smaller. That would be good. Thanks for asking!

Greetings arrete :)

I really like those penguins! What is the meaning? Or are they just birds.

Also, I give up on this other thing. My advice would be to ignore those you choose to, fight it out with those you want to, and the rest of us will get along fine. How's that sound?
