I don't know how to do the linking thing, but bensolar, in post 11470, appears to be supporting my assessment regarding hocus' hijacking of the 1HF thread.

The words that appear on the computer screen when you click on the link do not support it, wanderer.

Now, why don't you scoot off...

That's attitude, Wanderer. That's not helpful. That should stop.

if we won't play your game then you're determined from time to time to come over to us and spoil & break-up our game so no one succeeds The type of tactic that you are describing above is wrong, Pete. If this is what were going on, I would very much agree with you. People have a right to differ...

I support raddr's objections to hocus's idiotic idea.

Actually, it was raddr's idea, Pete. I was just saying that I thought he was on the right track in suggesting it, but that I thought that working out the details was going to be difficult.

A few of the statements made about them are way, way off base. All I'm saying is I don't want to see any more of that. Simple enough?

Are you talking about statements put forward by me or by someone else?

Can you say what statements it is that you are concerned about?

Oh BTW, if anyone wants to mess with ataloss or raddr they will have to deal with me as well. Although I try to stay as neutral as possible this is something I won't tolerate. I'll ignore anything previously said in this thread but consider this fair warning. I will "mess" with no one, ES...

He lambasted 1HappyFool for posting such a long piece, trying to make a point about how poorly intercst runs the REHP message board. I did no such thing, as you would know if you read the link you posted. Here are some of my words from that link: I believe that OneHappyFool knows that he has long b...

My point is that 1) You came bursting into the discussion claiming an insight which we have zero evidence that you actually originated and which we have evidence that you got the insight from Bernstein, 2) You demanded thanks for that 'insight', 3) You berated people for not giving thanks and for n...

Do you have the post? Can we see it? I am not certain whether I have a copy of the post or not. It is possible that I have a copy somewhere. It would take some effort to dig it up, in the event that I have it. If you are willing to agree to make an apology for the smear, I am willing to go to the t...

This is, of course, long after pretty much everyone on this site has agreed that valuation affects SWR. If everyone agreed that changes in valuation affect SWRs, there would have been no Great Debate, BenSolar. My claim in the May 13, 2002, post and those that followed from it was that changes in v...

So there's no record. Pity. ...Hocus has now hallucinated that it was not hocus' insensitivity that offended 1HF, but some desire to protect some internet third party who done hocus (the whole 'Wave') wrong. someone please verify this so that newcomers will know I'm not making this up. Of course yo...

You can either have a study of the maximal surviving withdrawal rate for a given historical period or you can have a study of investor behaviour but I don't see how you can combine the two. Given that investor behavior has always affected the maximal surviving withdrawal rate, how would you propose...

I am glad to hear that posts at TMF have considered that the risk in an investment is less significant for someone with ample FIRE assets than it is for someone with marginal FIRE assets. However, the basic idea (the utility of the next ducat diminishes with the number of ducats already owned) is a...

Until stocks yield enough to match the yields on TIPS or until P/E10 falls below 18, a retiree should keep his (S&P 500) stock (index) allocation well below 50%. This statement is most helpful, JWR1945 . As you may recall, I was asked early in the Great Debate to say what percentage allocation ...

I found the Coin Toss post(124089). This perplexes me....since hocus simultaneously maintains that.... seems confused to me. This is not the appropriate thread nor the appropriate board for discussing the ins and outs of the "Coin Toss" post, Ataloss. If you have a sincere desire to learn...

I am hoping that hocus will post [old TMF posts here]. (it is hard to find the old threads at TMF and some people (ES) want to avoid that place) I don't have plans to post links to any of my old TMF posts here. I have no objection to any others doing so, however. I want to see the TMF board and thi...

I didn't know that I was required to participate on the SWR board. You are not required, raddr. You say on a post above that the "Coin Toss" post is one of the best posts you have ever seen on any message board, and that you would like to see more of that type of post. I am giving you adv...
