Hi Ken! I sing the same tune! :P And looks like Hocus agrees too. So let's move on. Could somebody do a SWR study with a (simple 3-level?) show of starting (of withdrawel) p/e valuation levels?

I don't read the Fool board anymore after the payment thing so am probably not that well "wandered" :wink:in the whole story - but the quotes I have seen here - and the ones I sneak peaked (with a bunch of new e-mail adresses) at the board after the payment issue, and again recently (cheap...

Bob keeps making so much sense to me! I love Bob!!

That said; have anybody actually MADE the study of SWR including the 3 tier valuations at starting year? (low P/E below 10, medium P/E (around 10), high P/E (above 10) - or whatever levels found fair).

Is is hard to do?

ben/wise&lucky/a few others: "as long as on topic/not about TMF/Intercst issues then FIRE board is fine" Hocus: "sorry, can not split those 2 + lean towards seperate board here" Based the above statements looks like a seperate board - but calling it SWR study or similar neutr...

Hey Hocus, I welcome you here too :D, and agree with (some of the) previous posters that as long it is "on topic" (which is very broad indeed!) you can FIRE away. If you on the other hand can not seperate the Intercst ranting from the topic of the board, you better get a seperate board her...

hey wanderer, Again, I have notes if anyone is interested... Please let me see your notes - am in the middle of a "de-cluttering" process and any inspiration is appreciated. www.getorganizednow.com is one page adressing this issue - and since I have been a bit of a pack rat I need to clean...

I also had a hard time saving in my first "good" earning years... But admittingly had a cool sports car and still have my cool B&O stereo with all the bells and whistles 8) Since then I have however learned, as eridanus, that material goods is not really what makes ME happy, and...

As both Ken and Wanderer points out; expat work/life/income can actually give the best of both worlds: high standard of living AND (in my case) more than 50% of salary as savings. I still target the magic mill at 38-40 being 4-6 years from now. Inch Allah. As discussed before; expat life/work is not...

I feel sorry for you expat Americans these days! Hopefully your salaries would then be increased accordingly by your companies, or the company will simply pay the taxes up to the old limit, as that was what you based your expatriation decision on in the first place. My company simply gives us a NET ...
