Did they give you any sort of rational explanation for terminating your posting priveledges? My dealings with Motley Fool re this matter have been exceedingly strange. Their assigned duty is to enforce the posting rules as published. That's what we pay them for, isn't it? It seems to confound them ...

You are always welcome here and I look forward to many enlightening posts from you in the future. Thanks for those kind words, ES. As you know, my heart is with the Motley Fool board. My love for that board runs deep in my blood. On learning the news, however, it was certainly good to know that the...

Termination of TMF Posting Privileges--Mine!

I received an e-mail this morning from Motley Fool telling me that my TMF posting privileges have been revoked. They killed hocus! Since this is my second favorite message board community, I have an interest in significantly increasing my posting activity at this board. There are some complications,...

I'll miss her, too. I believe she brings value to this community. I'll let you know when I see any significant posts from her elsewhere. It seems to have become my role in this to be the one who discusses elephants in the living room, things that just about everyone has noticed and is wondering abo...

You certainly have an ability to stir stuff up. That's the journalist in me, BenSolar. Some people think of the word "controversy" as a shorthand way of saying "better duck, there's trouble up ahead!." I think of it as a shorthand way of saying "hey, it looks like we're goi...

There doesn't seem to be any "there" there (at the rehp) There's a "there" there, Wanderer. It is buried. It is unable to speak. Much of the "there" has temporarily left the REHP board for obvious reasons but is perfectly willing to come back when prevailing conditions...

I think using the approach JWR1945 and I have suggested is more likely to get people on your side than the approach you've taken. It sounds to me like the approach you are describing is a Phase One approach--trying to persuade through reason. My view is that giving that approach 10 months to work w...

But ousting intercst from the board he founded? Don't go sentimental on me, OK? How do you feel about him ousting me and wanderer from the board we made a success, BenSolar? The founding counts for something, I don't deny that. But I know what is involved in founding a board. It takes about 10 minu...

I think that intercst is an extremely popular poster over there, and that his position as board leader is pretty much written in stone. There is a lot of evidence pointing the other way, BenSolar. When I put up the post asking that his posting privileges be revoked, it received 24 recommendations. ...

Some of the childish ones over there continue to post digs aimed at this fine place and those who post here, though, and I don't like it! Why do you think they do that, Ben.? You don't think it is an accident or a misunderstanding, do you? This board represents a threat to them. It is possible for ...

There is a mechanism in place to handle the overall "Rules" part of our boards and I'm quite happy with it. Suffice to say I'm not the only one who has a voice in what goes on here. OK, ES . I am not trying to say that you rule with an iron hand. I think it is fair to say that you make th...

Those are my thoughts. I don't intend to try to censor you. But I do want to consider this side of the story. OK, BenSolar I think it is healthy for you to put forward that side of the story. I think it would be healthy for both sides of the story to be fleshed out a lot more than they have been to...

JWR didn't bring up intercst. I don't think it is healthy for this board for you to bring that jihad over here. You're entitled to your opinion, BenSolar. I obviously do not agree. I see the issue of what can be discussed and what cannot be discussed at the REHP board as an important one to the fut...

http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=18942440&sort=whole I think it's just human nature -- few things bond people together more than a common "enemy." I'm sure you've seen this in all kinds of contexts. Paradox is my favorite communication tool. I just love a well-stated paradox.

To sustain his influence hocus should always hold a little bit back. He needs to save a little gem for each new book. I know that you are mostly joking, JWR1945. But I am going to be a little bit serious in response because the issues you discuss here have been placed on the table in a teasing sort...

We know that hocus is writing a book.... This book has the potential of becoming the most commented-upon unpublished manuscript since Truman Capote's "Unanswered Prayers." I'll tell you one thing, after all this fuss, it had better be long. I mean, it had better be good. I always get thos...

hocus is prevailing at the Motley Fool even though few may realize it. . JWR1945: I "prevailed" in the sense in which you use the word here a long time ago. I expect to "prevail" in a much more expansive sense of the word in days to come. It would ruin the trick ending if I were...

wanderer will soon be a legend on these boards. [referring to his promotion from the rank of "admiral"] It does my heart good to see that. As those who follow The Great Debate on that other board know, it was the smears directed at Wanderer [who in my view is the best poster whose ever po...

BenSolar: The REHP board over there is a love/hate thing for me. I wouldn't be here now if I hadn't immersed myself in the debate hocus inspired over there over the last 8 months.
